Job Description

Six plus month assignment with a conversion arrangement in place.

As a Buyer Planner you will select and make purchases of supplies, products, materials and services per business need. This role will emphasize cost effectiveness while maintaining quality and on time delivery. Researches products and obtain bids from vendors, and analyzes items based on availability, price, and quality. You will effectively manage the inventory levels of raw components as well as tracking status of key production lines.

Key responsibilities:

******Knowledge and experience with ISO 13485:2106 (medical device industry experience is required) *****

· Place and administer all purchase orders for procurement of components, assemblies, equipment, and services to support schedules and business needs.

· Conducts analysis on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS).

· Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders based on demand generated from MRP.

· Track status and report on delays or other issues with purchase orders issued to ensure time schedules are met

· Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, engineering, sales, and other support teams to alleviate constraints to on-time delivery.

· Establish and maintain supplier relationships both externally and internally to ensure company requirements are maintained

· Ensure compliance with negotiated contracts.

· Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the components balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs

· Negotiate pricing for components and ensure the expenditure represents the best interest of customer and the organization.

· Assist in Inventory management by utilizing Lean principles (JIT, Pull systems), vendor managed opportunities, minimum order analysis and make/buy conversions.

· Manager, monitor, and analyze metrics and data such as, but not limited to, safety stock, ‘what-if’ analysis, etc.

· Process debit memos in support of the MRB process.

· Support new product development schedules and projects with the engineering team with material planning and purchasing requirements.

· Maintains accurate record retention, per company policy, and work within the company's established policies and procedures

· Identify areas of improvement that could result in cost savings

· Communicate with suppliers and customers both external and internal.

· Work jointly with other Buyer Planners to schedule production orders and supervise production team to ensure all customer demands are met.

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.

· Maintains item master and other company records in ERP system.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:

· High School diploma

· Minimum of five (5) years’ purchasing experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities

· Experience with ERP systems

· Knowledge and experience with ISO 13485:2106 and FDA QSR 21 CFR:820

Desired: · Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree
