CAD Designer

(NX- Preferred- CREO- SolidWorks)

Contract Position, M-F 40+ hours per week

12+ months minimum. 


Project Overview:

Our client requires an experienced NX Designer and an experienced CREO/SOLIDWORKS Designer to join their centralized design team.  They will be tasked with converting 3D models into production drawings. 

The position will not require concept design work, but the person should have extensive experience on recent versions of the NX is a plus, CREO and Solidworks are acceptable tools.  Must have machining and Sheetmetal experience.


Ideally, the candidate will have experience in commercial products or smaller scale assembly equipment manufacturing.  The components they will be working on are on the small side, so experience working with tight tolerances is essential.   


Day to Day Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Design Engineering Manager, the candidate will join an existing design team and may be assigned to work on a variety of projects during the assignment.  While concept level work design work will not be required, the candidate should be capable of independent work within the team environment. 

Creates electromechanical layouts, packaging, and mechanism designs. Works with technology development, product engineering, suppliers, manufacturing and quality group to define specifications and complete the full design cycle. Creates documentation and conducts design reviews in support of design efforts.

Collects data, may analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendations. Contributes as required, in the design, analysis, prototype build, software or process development, evaluation, and complete bottom up product documentation for pre-production release.





-         5 years NX Design experience with recent versions (Client is using vers 10._)  And/or 5 years CREO and or SOLIDWORKS drafting experience

Experience with Machining and Sheetmetal

-         Experience with multipart assemblies

-         Understanding of tolerancing concepts and practices

-         Familiarity with ANSI 14.5 standards
