Data Scientist
Contract, 20 hours weekly 3+ years

Group 46 is in need of a part-time Data Scientist to work as individual or within a team to analyze radar outputs and other large data sets from sensors for a broad range of security and defense applications.

Designs, develops, and implements methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse data sets including structured and unstructured. Develops software programs, algorithms, dashboards, information tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate and evaluate datasets. Keeps abreast of new analytic methodologies and technologies. Collaborates with functional business units to drive business solutions and direction.

The Homeland Protection Systems Group works with US government agencies and military partners to develop, assess, and rapidly transition advanced systems in support of the Homeland’s strategic interests. The group has deployed novel technology solutions to address security challenges in the national airspace, in urban centers, and at critical infrastructure sites. We specialize in systems integration, systems analysis, and field testing, especially as related to air security operations. Our mission expertise is applied toward developing innovative approaches to architecture design, algorithm and hardware prototyping, and general problem-solving. Our team of scientists, engineers, and technologists develop and employ cutting-edge techniques in exploratory data analysis, predictive analytics, and systems engineering to produce solutions for complex problems in varied environments.

Must Have:
* Analysis and visualization of radar or other real-world sensor output data
* MATLAB expertise
* Linux OS and scripting
* Geographic coordinate systems
* ADS-B sensors and data
* Air Traffic Control radar systems
* Air Surveillance radar systems

Nice to have:
* Common Digitizer 2 (CD2) output data format
* ASTERIX output data format

Candidates must have a secret clearance in order to be considered for this role.
