Electro - Optical Measurements Engineer
Contract 3 Year Assignment 40 hours weekly

US Citizen, with Secret Clearance and or ability to obtain a security clearance

Partial work from home, 20%, On Site 80%

Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electro-optic equipment and systems, including advanced materials systems; photonic, fiber optic, and other communication systems; as well as control and measurement test systems for product and process applications.

he Advanced Imager Technology Group is seeking to hire an engineer to join its semiconductor device test team to assist in the characterization and understanding of novel avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and other photodetectors. The Group is building state-of-the-art, photon-counting receivers and other visible and infrared imagers for a variety of scientific and national security needs. This position will require versatility and creativity to design and carry out the appropriate measurements and then to analyze the data for validity and usefulness in answering the underlying device performance questions. The position requires independent thought and problem solving and using best science & engineering judgment to debug problems.

Preference given to candidates with experience in multiple areas:

-Use of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and frequency/pulse generators
-Optical test equipment experience including: power meters, optical spectrum
analyzers, fiber components
-Data processing experience using MATLAB, Python, or similar
-Experience debugging and interpreting data products
-Experience with electronic schematic interpretation, debugging, and test

-Experience with basic electronics tooling including soldering, test cable builds
-Ability to effectively communicate results and ideas – written or verbal
-Circuit design
-Experience with FPGA programming (e.g. Verilog, HDL)

BA/BS preferred. Will review candidates with HS diploma/Associates plus 4 years of experience supporting similar work/projects???????
