Field Technician
3+ year contract 40 hours a week

Qualified candidates must have an ACTIVE secret clearance to be considered for this position. Active Top Secret is preferred.

Work from Home:
First 6 months of this position will be 100% on site. After 6 months, this position will be eligible for a hybrid schedule.

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications, relations, and provides onsite training.

The Client Services Team is the Laboratory’s primary point of contact for enterprise IT services and support. This team consists of ISD Service Centers in B-158 and 3 Forbes Road; a Contact Center; and SAP Support, Field Services, and Hardware Repair Groups. The Audiovisual Services Group provides support for events, webinars, conferences, and video teleconferences, video recording and streaming, conference room installation services, and maintenance of the audiovisual infrastructure.

Reporting to the ISD Client Services AV Manager, the AV Technician will deliver best-in-class AV customer and operational support services to the Lab community and partners. This position, skillset, and scope of responsibilities are essential to meet new business requirements and are essential for the success of the future of work. The Client Services team is evolving as services grow, mature, and expectations increase and this position will be a key contributor to the success of the delivery of these services. This individual will also play an important role in support and projects related to event space innovation support, collaboration peripherals in laboratory areas, and Enterprise Collaboration Room Services.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Supporting A/V operations and events and video conferencing results in a positive experience.
•Perform work that demonstrates the ability to accomplish unusually complex or difficult set-ups, troubleshoot A/V equipment/systems as well as Video Conferencing equipment
•Understanding the operation and repair of a wide variety of Laboratory-related audio-visual equipment and systems.
•Performing routine preventive maintenance on A/V systems and equipment in person and using monitoring systems.
•Providing installation of A/V components, including but not limited to the following:
-Matrix switchers
-Vdeo teleconferencing equipment, etc.
•Operate A/V systems and record presentations virtual and onsite presentations.
•Installing and Commissioning Software
•Loading, testing, troubleshooting, organizing and managing presentations on classified and unclassified computers, sometimes simultaneously.
•Maintaining knowledge of current state-of-the-art technologies in areas relevant to Meeting Technology, including presentation systems, video teleconferencing (Zoom and Teams) and A/V equipment Recording and tracking incidents and requests in ITSM system.
•Reading and utilizing schematics and following written directions.
•Work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and high-profile environment.
•Be team-oriented, flexible, and have excellent customer service skills.
•Provide highly technical advice to engineers, researchers, or other responsible parties.
•Assume an exceptionally high degree of responsibility.
•Interact with customers and peers when complex situations arise.

Must Have:
•Knowledge of matrix switchers, control systems, audio and video signal flow, amplifiers, microphones, collaboration tools, and related A/V components.
