Hardware Engineering Technician
Contract 3+ Months (potential extension/conversion)
Mon – Fri 40 hours/week
Marlborough, MA

About the Job

Our client's engineering team provides diagnostic solutions for customers in the energy industry. They are looking for a Hardware Engineering Technician to join the team and be a key player in support of the hardware engineering lab.

Duties include:

  • Install/remove/rework fine pitch SMT & thru hole components
  • Repair damaged PCB traces/pads, apply flying leads for test
  • Design & Build cable assemblies
  • Ability to read assembly drawings (electrical & mechanical), schematics, wiring diagrams
  • Ability to use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, programmers
  • Module/System level debug, repair & updates and triage faults to lower level circuits/components
  • Perform Design Verification Tests (DVT) and bring up procedures
  • Develop Waiver/ECN rework documentation
  • Basic understanding of basic electronic theory & components
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel), PCB layout viewers
  • Participate as a team member on development projects and team meetings
  • HW lab maintenance – organization, supply stocking, oversight

Required Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred but will consider candidates without degree if they have great relevant experience)
  • 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience in HW Technician role.
These skill are nice to have (not required):
  • Altium, Orcad or DxDesigner schematic capture experience
  • Altium, Allegro or PADs layout tool or viewer experience
  • Design of rudimentary electronic circuits
  • Test fixture design or development
