Manufacturing Development Engineer

Contract 6+ months M-F 40 hours weekly

US Citizen, Active Secret Clearance

Manufacturing Development Engineer with demonstrated project leadership experience. The selected candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of integration, test and evaluation of first-of-a-kind dynamic systems in a multidisciplinary team environment. The candidate will apply manufacturing experience to support the effective production, manufacture, test and disposition of high value electromechanical assets in a DOD production environment. Duties include working effectively with production facilities, design engineers, Quality Assurance and Program Management to proactively seek solutions to manufacturing issues and coordinate with Review Boards for the proper disposition of material. Candidate will also be responsible for adherence to relevant industry and government production standards, including audit preparation and execution. The individual should be a highly motivated self-starter with willingness to learn and participate in an exciting team environment.

 

BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering (MS preferred) and 2+ years’ work experience.  Familiarity with Quality Assurance roles and techniques, including Waiver/Deviation, Configuration Management and supplier oversight along with strong written and oral communication skills at a technical level is required. Experience in a DOD manufacturing environment in the application of advances manufacturing techniques including Six Sigma, Lean and Statistical Process Control is highly desired.
