Model Based Sr. Systems Engineer

Contract 6+ months, M-F 40 hours weekly

Client looking for a Model Based Sr. Systems Engineer for our growing Systems Engineering department, working on next generation aircraft controls for military and commercial aircraft. We are expanding our staff as we grow our technology, mission areas, and market share. In this role, you will use your expertise and experience in the needs of stakeholders, requirements development and flow-down to architect solutions for high performance systems. You will bring first-hand development and or engineering experience in a model based development environment to include set based design understanding, along with working with the digital twin concept. This position is located in Torrance, CA.

As a Model Based Sr. Systems Engineer, you will…
•Provide direction and guidance for model based development and engineering
•Use MBSE (model based system engineering) strategies to layout road map and capabilities
•Analyze/troubleshoot problems, identify and present accurate solutions in a high op-tempo environment
•Output design reports and presentations based on results from modeling and simulations
•Operate as a lead technical member on a team of creative, independent individuals
•Operate in an Agile / Lean mindset.
•Incorporate the Systems thinker mindset, to ensure the stakeholders needs and requirements are achieved

Minimum Qualifications to be considered…

•Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer or Systems Engineering
•10+ years of progressive experience in the field of System Engineering
•2+ years of experience operating in a model based design environment
•Experience with specific capabilities and competencies in requirements management, modeling/simulation methods and control system design
•Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen
•Must have a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to acquire a clearance

Preferred Qualifications Include…
•Proficient or familiarity with MBSE, SysML, UAF, DoDAF, Matlab, Simulink, Cameo System Modeler, and Python
•Thorough knowledge of incorporating high standards of safety and reliability into the design of aircraft control systems
•Demonstrated technical leadership experience
•Competencies in requirements management, CONOPS and system architecture development, verification and validation, and/or integration and test
•Knowledge of aircraft flight control systems a plus
•Experience in the aerospace industry
•Good verbal and written skills required
•Strong interpersonal skills for working with different engineering disciplines
