Network Engineer
Contract 3-6+ months 
M-F 40 hours weekly
US Citizen Only

Responsibilities

Work in a fast-paced environment, as part of an engineering team to deliver the next generation ground robotic systems for government and private-sector applications. We have a temporary need for a Network Engineer/Expert to work on a large robotic vehicle program. This person will define the network requirements necessary to fulfill contract deliverables and either implement the design firsthand as a contractor, or oversee the specification of network system requirements and internal development needs and/or external 3rd party solutions that can satisfy the contract requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • MS Degree in Network Engineer, Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Software Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years’ experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, routed IP networks, layer 2/3/4 switches, VLANs, and advanced router and switch security
  • Strong working knowledge of data communication protocols and standards (IPv4/IPv6, PPP, DHCP, RADIUS, Routing, NAT, Bridging, VLANs)
  • Experience in Ethernet switch/router programming, bring-up, and configuration
  • Experience in diagnosing Ethernet-based communication issues
  • Experience with QoS resource management and static/dynamic bandwidth allocation, protection, and reservation
  • Expertise in embedded development concepts and interfaces (SGMII, RGMII, QSGMII, XAUI, SFI/XFI, PCIe)
  • Knowledge of network management tools that leverage SNMP, netflow and syslog
  • Working knowledge of network protocol and performance analyzers and Network management tools (Wireshark, Netflow Analyzer, SNMP, etc.)
  • Experience in reading schematics and data sheets
  • Working knowledge of C, C++, and compliers
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Flexible, self-starter, desire to solve any problem and hit critical milestones
  • U.S. citizenship
