About the Job

Our client is looking for a Program Manager - Space Programs to manage programs and support the capture of new business opportunities focused on the development of advanced Autonomy and AI technology and creation of first-of-a-kind capabilities for national defense customers. The PM will be a principle interface to customers, subcontractors, and leadership for the programs and proposals managed. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for U.S. Dept. of Defense Security Clearance.

Duties include:

  • Manage talented, multidisciplinary, engineering teams to meet program schedule, cost, and technical objectives of government funded AI and autonomy programs.
  • Lead program planning, including cost and schedule definition and coordination of staff assignments
  • Coordinate and manage program execution, perform regular risk assessments and initiation of corrective actions as required in order to achieve program objectives
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor performance
  • Asses and report financial and technical progress vs plans
  • Lead R&D proposals and ensure on time delivery of a compliant proposal that effectively communicates and differentiates the offering
  • Manage proposal team efforts including the development of work statements, schedules, budgets, coordination/evaluation of proposal inputs from the technical staff


Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a Program Manager or Systems Engineer with:

  • a strong technical background and a track record of successfully leading/coordinating teams to execute advanced technology development programs.
  • 5-10 years of project/program leadership experience in positions of increasing responsibility,
  • a demonstrated understanding of program management processes and tools,
  • a working knowledge of FAR based development contracts.
  • a successful track record of proposal development/program capture
  • an understanding of strategies for proposal management, ensuring compliance, opportunity shaping, and offering differentiation.

The skills are nice to have: (one or more of the following)
  • The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to innovate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Experience working with the military space and intelligence communities, and a recent SBI-level clearance are highly desired.
  • PMI certification and experience working in an Agile Software Development environment is a plus.
