Quality Inspector (2) contract to direct positions

M-F 40 hours weekly, 6 months conversion

Performs incoming, in-process and final inspection, checks, tests, and sampling of materials, parts and components used in the manufacture of combination products (drug/medical device).


I.      Essential Functions and Responsibilities

        Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to drawings, parts manuals, company or FDA standards, and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices.

        Accurately document results of inspections and tests.

        Participate in the development and revision of procedures for inspection and test function.

        Coordinate calibration of all inspection and test equipment to assure no delays in releasing received items.

        Maintain knowledge of all procedures and changes to specifications related to areas of responsibilities.

        Monitor gas cylinders for accuracy

I.       Other Duties and Responsibilities

Additionally responsible for:

        in-process and final inspections, sampling , purchasing and shipping requests, training and inventory quarantined items

        Support of R&D

        Inspection and testing of circuit boards, cables and box builds

Upkeep of files and documentation

I.      Knowledge and Skills

        High School Diploma or equivalent required.  College courses/degree is a plus.

        3-5 plus years’ experience with inspection of plastic and metal components and assemblies, PC boards, electronic assemblies.

        Recent IPC-A- 600 (Printed Boards), IPC-A- 610 (Electronic Assemblies) training required IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cables & Wire Harness Assemblies ) ICP certification is a plus ESD

        Technical knowledge and experience with measuring and testing equipment such as calipers, micrometers, vision systems, optical comparator, voltmeter, pin gauges

        Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, ANSI-Y-14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

        Must have strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

        Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. MS Access and other software tools, a plus.

        Must have good basic mathematical skills

        FDA 21 CFR 820/ISO 13485 experience is a plus

        Fluent in English (verbal and written); fluency in other languages is a plus

        Gas Cylinder training

        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

        Bend Stoop reach

        Ability to sit for two hour at a time

        Ability to reach above head below waist

        Correctable vision to 20/20
