Will work in a Consumer Products/Medical Product R&D Environment Will participate in product development by generating design inputs, requirements, and specifications, assessing competitive technologies, compiling reports, building and testing proof of concepts.
Ideal candidate will have Project Management experience, plastics extrusion experience and some medical products experience. Position requires 6 - 12 years of experience, no more than that.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field and 3 years’ experience or master’s degree and 1 year experience.
Engineering experience in regulated industries (i.e., Medical, Automotive, Aerospace) is required, medical device experience is required.
Knowledge and experience configuring sensors, actuators, and test setups and documenting activities.
Solid project management skills is an absolute must.
PMP a plus.
Experience; ability to quickly determine key factors for success including costs, features, and benefits.
Demonstrated ability to utilize statistical tools and computer analysis.
Solid data analytical skills
Ability to travel domestically and internationally; 10% Travel
Daily Responsibilities include the following:
Serve as a key member of a cross-functional project team to achieve project deliverables.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineers on product lifecycle activities.
Understand customer needs through literature review, customer interviews, direct observation, competitive analysis, prototype evaluation, and clinical/simulated use studies.
Translate customer needs into specific product, packaging, and process specifications.
Utilize modeling tools to simulate and analyze systems, subsystems, and data.
Develop and execute test methods, which specify measurement equipment, test set-up, measurement systems analysis, and data analysis.
Author and/or review Engineering Change Orders.
Point of communication for issue/bug triage, risk ranking and tracking to closure.
Works to improve processes and procedures (Product Charters, project plans, prototypes,
