Senior Algorithm Engineer
Contract 6 months (Temp-to Perm)
Mon - Fri 40 hrs/wk
Norwood, MA

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and development novel algorithms for medical and wearable products

Model and analyze systems and algorithms for research and internal review

Analyze product requirements, and plan and estimate development activities

Identify hardware processing needs to meet algorithm execution requirements

Develop innovative algorithm solutions to satisfy requirements

Develop and execute test plans for unit testing; and work closely with the system test team to insure the delivery of high quality design

Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status

Functional Skills/Knowledge

Solid analytical skills with a strong attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance

Proven ability to drive innovation in the engineering conceptualization stages by pushing technology limits while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule.

A broad view and understanding of the product development process, and effective experience leading multi-disciplined team efforts in the evolution of products from concept through testing, verification and approval

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills

Ability to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

BS or MS in Electrical/Biomedical or Software Engineering (or equivalent)

Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a Electrical/Firmware/Algorithm Engineering role involving the design and development of algorithms and software for wearable products

Understanding of firmware development and resource limitations

Experience in the development of embedded firmware of microcontrollers, including design, test and debugging is a plus

Previous industry experience working for a company or a consultant company in the medical, wearables or biomedical goods space is highly desirable.
