Senior Systems Engineering Specialist

Contract Assignment 6+ Months M-F 40 hours weekly

As a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist, in our Aircraft Group (AG), you’ll be responsible for rapid prototyping, development testing, integration testing and verification testing of complex electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, hydro-mechanical and electro-pneumatic components and systems that will become the new products of our client.

Our Senior Specialists are also responsible for specification of the required test system(s) needed to execute the tests often involving substantial mechanical, electrical and software design. Our Senior Specialists also act as the mentor for our Systems Engineering Specialists.

Under the technical direction of a Systems Engineer, the Senior Specialist provides assistance to all aspects of flight control system lab definition, integration and qualification testing.

A major contribution of the Senior Systems Engineering Specialist is in the requirements and design of the development, integration and verification test systems. Specific to this task, the Specialist ensures that the test system is applicable to the program milestones and then fully integrates the test system when the components are completed. This final integration may involve writing software for the hardware in the loop test system.

Finally, the Senior Systems Engineering Specialist is expected to continually investigate and develop with suppliers and the Systems Engineers any new technologies that would improve the overall efficiency of the system prototyping and development stage.

Job Functions:
Here is what to expect on a day-to-day basis:
•Specification of test system design/fabrication/procurement, and coordination of the assembly and integration
•Implementation and operation of system test procedures and scripts
•Evaluation of discrepant hardware/software and development test results. Formulation of recommended courses of action
•Technical support of suppliers
•Communication with Systems Engineering regarding implementation aspects of the system
•Root cause and corrective action; resolution of problems with test equipment and facilities
•Inventory management, calibration, and repair of test equipment, cabling, and hydraulic assemblies

Required Skills:

At a minimum, you will need to meet these qualifications:
•Bachelor’s in an Engineering discipline with at least four years related technical experience in Systems Engineering integration and verification. As an alternative, an Associate’s in an Engineering discipline with minimum of ten years’ experience in Systems Engineering integration and verification
•The candidate must have a level of experience in the MATLAB, Simulink and Python software programming environments
•A level of experience working with dSPACE products is desired
