Duties include:

This position is for a software systems engineer to lead mission computer upgrade activities on the International Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) projects for the Air Surveillance Command and Control (C2) Systems Department. Responsibilities include coordinating International AWACS tasks across the portfolio, regularly interfacing with the government to provide technical guidance, developing an in-depth understanding of the mission computing architecture of the International AWACS systems to assist in defining future modifications, and evaluating contractor development and test progress. Qualifications - External Key qualifications: - Experience with software-intensive systems and integration of hardware and software. - Ability to develop and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with supported program offices

Experience with technical and schedule risk evaluation of software development activities and development of mitigation strategies - Experience with software development and testing including evaluation of software defects, evaluation of software metrics, and evaluation of test processes and assessing compliance. - Experience with software source code analytics and evaluation tools. - Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and briefing skills with experience working on multi-disciplinary teams. -

 

Required Qualifications:

DoD Secret clearance. – Required

B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3 years experience. Desired Qualifications: - Familiarity with AWACS or other airborne BMC2 systems. - Familiarity with different software development methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, DevOps). - Experience with DoD programs through stages of development including design, implementation, and test. - M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience. –

 

 

These skills are a plus: 
 

Familiarity with AWACS or other airborne BMC2 systems. - Familiarity with different software development methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, DevOps). - Experience with DoD programs through stages of development including design, implementation, and test. - M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience. - Experience with system and network security issues
