SPACE SYSTEM Engineer
Contract Assignment- 6+ Months
M-F 40 hours weekly

The Space Systems Engineer will be responsible for project leadership, developing core technologies, conceiving innovative solutions, and delivering technical products in support of Client's National Security and Space (NS&S) business unit. Leveraging Client's expertise in guidance navigation and control (GN&C), fault-tolerant avionics, human-systems technology, spacecraft mission management and embedded systems, the candidate will support the NS&S mission areas in developing early stage concepts and seeing them through to become full system solutions.
Demonstrated ability to develop effective collaborations with government, industry, and academia.
Familiarity with the applicable government research and technology development roadmaps, and system requirements for operations in a space environment.
Experience in working with and applying model-based systems engineering best practices to design, develop, build, and transition the systems into fielded use.
Experience in capturing new business through leading and supporting the writing of technical proposals, authoring of white papers, and briefing materials.

Education and Experience:
BS, MS, or PhD degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, or aerospace engineering with at least 10 years of training or experience in a space systems engineering discipline.
Project and/or task leadership of a space system or sub-system.
Experience in space systems engineering, including, but not limited to requirements development and analysis, guidance, navigation and control (GN&C), fault-tolerant avionics, spacecraft mission management, and reliability assessment.
Developing and maturing applicable core technologies through research and development activities, crafting innovative solutions, and technical excellence in project execution for space and mission critical systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a highly motivated, self-starter with willingness to learn and participate in a team environment.
