Job Description

 Supplier Quality Manager:
Function in accordance with the Quality Management System. This includes management of Supplier Quality personnel as well as ensuring that the process remains compliant and drives quality improvement activities for suppliers and subcontractors.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• You will  be responsible for defect trend analysis and disposition of corrective actions, as required.
• Analyze supplier performance to ensure that problem areas are identified and addressed.

• Support potential new supplier assessments and relevant commodity strategies as needed.
• Directs, monitors, and appraises the performance of supplier quality staff, identifies training and educational needs, and initiates development of staff
• Recommends and/or approves all salary and staffing changes • Monitors the regulatory compliance of the supplier quality function, adheres to the Company’s QA program, and brings compliance issues to the attention of management.

• Oversees the creation and maintenance of internal communication programs and processes to ensure both management’s and company’s awareness of compliance issues, activities, and federal, state and local regulatory activities that affect technical and supplier quality compliance • Develops monitoring processes (e.g.: trending and tracking of errors, inspection findings, and internal audit results) to review and analyze data to determine if modifications or additions to the current Supplier Quality program are necessary and creates recommendations to ensure organizational compliance

• Identifies systematic problems and coordinates corrective actions, systems or process changes that will resolve problems and improve operations
• Develops measurement systems based on supplier quality assessment tools and practices, and manages the data
• Coordinates organizational efforts for ISO 9000 standard compliance achievement as relates to Supplier Quality (and other relevant standards)
• Monitors the Supplier Quality Plan to ensure system wide compliance and notifies the Director of Quality of any deviations • Develops, recommends and carries out operating and capital expenditure budgets, as relates to the Supplier Quality function.
• Lead recurring Supplier Quality Review Board meetings for the site.
• Defines customer contract flow-down requirements to suppliers and performs periodic audits of supplier’s conformance to requirement documents.

• Facilitate customer CAR activities for supplier caused disruptions • Review and approve supplier First Article Inspection submissions as needed.
• Oversee the Supplier Variance Request(s) process and disposition workflow(s)
• Develops financial tracking of supplier nonconformance impact to the operations and provides data to support recovery activities. Basic

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field • Knowledge of predictive problem solving quality methodologies including Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and retain a security clearance within a time period to be established by the Company

• A minimum of 10 years of experience • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR and ITAR/EAR Requirements preferred. • Knowledge of First Article Inspection Reporting and AS9102 requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
• Ability to lead effective corrective action using disciplined problem solving methods and statistical analysis
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001-2008 Standards or equivalent QMS Standards • 6 Sigma Black Belt certification desired
• ASQ certification desired • Ability to travel 10-30%, as required.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and retain a security clearance within a time period to be established by the Company
