Systems Engineer

Contract 3+ years, 40 hours weekly

Strong experience with Extendable Mobile Ad-hoc Network Emulator (EMANE) - Not required but will heavily weight those with experience in this area
2. Experience with interfacing with DoD radio systems

This position will be a hybrid in terms of onsite vs offsite work. The persons should be local to MA for the start of the position and should expect to be onsite approximately 50% of the time.

Interim is sufficient for the start of this position.

Description:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The Tactical Networks Group specializes in advanced network and communications systems development, with a focus on systems analysis and rapid prototyping of radical next generation tactical mobile, military airborne communications systems.

The Tactical Networks Group is seeking to hire a software developer engineer that will implement various algorithms designed by staff and interface to existing radio systems. The work requires strong C++ experience, network emulation experience, and the ability to work with and interface with hardware.
Required skills:
1. Strong C++ development skills to include C++11/14, Standard Template Library (STL), and modern best practices
2. Strong network socket programming experience
3. Strong experience with link/MAC and network protocols
4. Ability to operate in rapid-development environment
