Contract Assignment

Our Client is seeking a talented technical writer to support the Electro-Optics and Instruments Group.  The successful candidate will contribute to advancing design and build documentation for state-of-the-art optical inertial sensors and systems.  The candidate will work closely with senior engineers and scientists to create and modify documentation to formally capture design and build process flows.  While a detailed understanding of the underlying design physics is not required, we are seeking someone who can quickly develop the technical expertise to identify critical aspects of the design and work flow.

Responsibilities will include generation of documents for review, aggregating comments from team members, and preparation of final documents for formal release.  Typically documents go through multiple iterations of review prior to formal release, so careful change management and comment tracking is required.

The candidate will be participating in an exciting team environment, led by senior engineers or scientists.  The ideal candidate must be able to quickly pick up key technical aspects of various designs, with assistance from the technical design and review teams.  The candidate must be well organized and able to take and compile comments and criticism of technical text from a review team.  The candidate must be adept at picking up key technical content in text and provide stream lined verbiage to represent the intended technical content.  Finally, the candidate will be expected to help standardize language across a series of documents, so consistent technical themes are described in a common way across many documents.

Minimum BS in a technical field, with additional 2+ years of technical writing experience preferred.
