Verification & Validation System Engineer
Contract Assignment 2 years
M-F 40 hours weekly

Required: An active Top Secret clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation(SSBI) within the last five years and be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
 

Requirements:

 

 Will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of the MOS V&V program including:

  • Executing and maintaining MOS V&V Plans
  • Monitoring adherence to the V&V Plan and assessing lower level and contractor plans for completeness and adherence to MOS V&V requirements
  • Responsible for driving and integrating MOS V&V activities throughout the mission operations system.
  • Reviewing guidelines, policies, and processes to integrate V&V activities and trace verification results up to the final, as-built MOS
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating the V&V Matrix for Level 3 Requirements
  • Exercising V&V interfaces between the MOS and other project systems
  • Designing and performing MOS tests to validate requirements including in Thread tests and Operations simulations
  • Reporting status on requirement closure and V&V activity and schedule to upper management
  • Leading, planning, coordinating, executing, and evaluating MOS Tests (Interface tests, Thread tests, Operations simulations, Operational Readiness Tests, etc.)
  • Scripting to help automate the execution and evaluation of MOS Tests
  • Responsible for configuration of software deployed to MOS environment
  • Writing MOS V&V Test Procedures and Reports
  • Leading MOS V&V meetings and supporting design team meetings
  • Participating in maintenance Test as you Fly Exceptions List (TAYFE)
  • Supporting efforts for conducting MOS V&V Reviews, supporting Special Programs Project-level V&V and management
  • Building and maintaining excellent technical relationships with key engineers on the project and contractor organizations

Qualifications:

·         Active TS/SCI clearance

·Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace Engineering, EE, CS, or related technical discipline with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years related experience.

·         Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: mission operations systems, ground data systems, end-to-end information systems (EEIS), systems engineering, system verification and validation (V&V), and system-level integration and test.

·         Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

·         Understanding and application of principles, theories, concepts and techniques in verification and validation as related to mission operations systems.

·         Knowledge of integration & test with ground systems.

  • Preferred Skills:
  • Direct experience in DoD systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge and experience in applicable DoD policies and procedures pertaining to Ground Systems and Mission Operations
  • Experience with distributed Unix/Linux environment and desire for AWS environment
  • Knowledge of dockers/container, deployment management tool and CI/CD pipeline
  • Understanding of Client Flight Project Practices and Design Principles
  • Understanding of DoD V&V practices and processes
  • Experience with V&V of complex software systems
